Personal Information Protection Policy
iBooks Academic Support (hereinafter “we” or “our service”) operates primarily in three areas: online education, academic paper/report support, and translation, with the aim of creating new value. Because we receive personal information from customers in connection with our services, we recognize the protection of personal information as an important social responsibility. Our officers and staff comply with laws concerning personal information protection, government guidelines, and other applicable standards.1. Regarding protection of personal information, we recognize risks such as unauthorized access, loss, destruction, alteration, and leakage of personal information and take necessary preventive and corrective measures. We also establish standards, rules, and procedures for proper handling and operation of personal information.
2. Organizational Activities for Personal Information Protection. To put this basic policy into practice, we undertake the following activities.
(1) Our officers and staff comply with laws concerning personal information, government guidelines, and other applicable standards.
(2) We appoint a person responsible for personal information protection and grant that person responsibility and authority for implementation and operation of personal-information protection measures.
(3) We appoint a personal-information protection audit officer and conduct internal audits of the implementation and operation of personal-information protection measures.
(4) We request cooperation regarding personal-information protection from business partners and individuals with whom we conduct transactions.

3. Handling of Personal Information — (1) Respect for Individual Rights
We respect individuals' rights concerning personal information. When a person requests disclosure, correction, deletion, suspension of use, or makes a complaint or consultation regarding their own personal information, we respond within a reasonable period and to an appropriate extent.
(2) Collection, Use, and Provision of Personal Information
When acquiring, using, or providing personal information, we clearly state the purpose of use and whether information will be provided to others, obtain consent, use information only within the stated purpose, and take measures to prevent use beyond that purpose.

Personal Information. “Personal information” means information such as an individual's name, date of birth, age, gender, address, telephone number, family composition, hobbies, preferences, email address, ID, IP address and timestamp, employer, affiliation, workplace address and telephone number, credit-card number, bank-account number, website-visit information, complaints, consultations, inquiries, and other information that can identify a specific individual either alone or in combination with other information.
2. Purposes of Use. We use acquired personal information for the following purposes.

(2) To bill customers using paid services
(3) To contact customers, provide information about products and services, send gifts, and perform related communications
(4) To customize information, services, and advertising displayed on our service pages according to customer attributes such as age, occupation, gender, hobbies, and preferences

10. Procedures for Correction, Suspension of Use, etc. When a customer requests correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, or erasure of their own personal information, we verify the customer's identity and respond within a reasonable period.
11. Disclaimer. We bear no responsibility for acquisition of personal information by a third party in the following cases.
(1) When the customer personally discloses personal information to a third party using a function of our service or another means
(2) When information entered by the customer into the service makes it possible to identify the individual
12. Use of Statistical Data. We may create statistical data based on acquired customer personal information after processing it so individuals cannot be identified. We may use non-identifiable statistical data without restriction.
13. Use of Cookies and Related Technologies
1. When customers use our services or those of our partners or view pages, we may automatically receive from the customer's browser and record on our servers information such as cookie data, advertisements/pages viewed, and the usage environment.
2. To consider new services and make existing services and advertising more suitable for customers, we may use information such as gender, occupation, age, viewed pages or advertisements, time of use, method of use, and usage environment.
3. To analyze what types of advertisements, information, and services would be effective for advertisers, information providers, and service providers, we may analyze customer information or select survey participants for analysis. Analysis results do not include information that identifies individuals.
14. Revisions to the Privacy Policy. We may revise all or part of this Privacy Policy. If there is an important change, we will announce it on the website.
